Factor-analysis-based directional distance function: The case of New Zealand hospitals

چکیده
This paper develops a new factor-analysis-based (FAB) approach for choosing the optimal direction in directional distance function (DDF) analysis. It has combined merits of factor analysis and slacks-based measure (SBM) incorporates relative ease with which various input-output could be adjusted. development relieves reliance on price information that is difficult to obtain provision public goods. FAB-DDF model been applied dataset containing all hospitals New Zealand (NZ) observed during 2011–2017. The empirical results indicate average reduction across different labor range 3–10 percent, corresponding figure capital input 25.7 percent. case-adjusted inpatient-discharge price-adjusted outpatient-visit are used as measures desirable output, efficiencies 92.7 percent 99 respectively.
